Fast fashion and factory farming do real harm, and most of us still buy the £8 t-shirt and the £4 chicken. But when ethical options cost two or three times more, and companies design the harmful practices, is personal guilt deserved or misplaced? Should the moral weight fall on shoppers at the till, or on the businesses and regulators who built the system?
